Average Annual Soil Loss (t.ha-1.year-1) is calculated by the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE): G = R x K x x L x S C x P, where R = 40 M.ha-1.year-1,
where:
G - Average Annual Soil Loss (t.ha-1.year-1),
R - Rainfall erosivity factor. defined as a product of rainfall kinetic energy and its highest 30-minute intensity,
K - the soil erodibility factor, expressing soil susceptibility in terms of erosion, depending on soil texture and structure, its permeability, content of humus and
other properties (t h MJ−1 cm−1, respectively, after adjustment t N−1),
L - the length factor, expressing the influence of continual slope length on the extent of soil loss,
S - the slope factor, expressing the influence of slope gradient on the extent of soil loss,
C - the cover-management factor, expressing the influence of sowing methods and agro-technology, reporting the soil loss proportion from an investigated
agricultural land and from a unit plot with a permanent fallow when maintaining the rest of parameters,
P - the support-practice factor, expressing the influence of erosion control measures.
